Ashley Tisdale Live Chat and Other Events for the Week of July 27

On Thursday, July 30 at 5pm PST, Ashley Tisdale will participate in a live chat from New York. Fans will be able to send in their questions via twitter beforehand and have an opportunity to “hang out” with the High School Musical megastar. You can watch the broadcast on her channel here.

One Intern, Four Channels, 32 Hours of Cable News! Watch as an intern at Vanity Fair magazine is confined to a small, windowless room with nothing but a laptop and a TV where he’ll be forced to watch cable news networks for four days straight. Let’s see how much 24-hour news one person can handle! Watch it live here every day until Thursday, July 30.

On Thursday, July 30 at 5pm PST, Rob Redstone will interview Collins Pennie, who plays Malik in the upcoming feature film version of the hit musical “Fame.” Rob’s interviews always center around questions asked by the fans, so tweet him your questions early and he might ask Collins live on the air! Also on Thursday, the World Women’s Championship for Bowling will be broadcast live from Las Vegas. The World Championships are the largest and most important event in the sport, so be sure to tune in and root for Team USA as they face off against more than 50 countries! Watch it here.

For the first time ever, The Miss Universe Organization will broadcast the Miss Teen USA Pageant live from the Bahamas. Catch it and watch the winner be crowned on Friday, July 31. Watch it here.

Also on Friday, Duke University professor Dan Ariely will hold a live office hours session for Ustream viewers. Professor Ariely is a leading expert in the field of behavioral economics, and author of the book “Predictably Irrational: The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions” which explores some of the reasons we make irrational decisions. Tune in to the broadcast here.

Bad Manors Squirrel Diner: This 24/7 cam has a rotating display of “props” that squirrels interact with in their hunt for nuts and other treats. You never know whether you’re going to see a squirrel facing off against a T-rex or a squirrel taking the stand at a political rally! Mitchel Musso Live Ustream on Facebook Webcast: Mitchel Musso is best known for playing Miley Cyrus’ sometime nemesis Oliver Oken on the hit show Hannah Montana and for playing Jeremy Johnson in the Disney Channel show Phineas and Ferb. EVO 2009 World Finals

Starting this Friday at 9:00am PST, Ustream will power a live stream of the EVO World Finals from Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring some of the most talented members of the fighting game community. This is the largest and longest-running gaming event of its kind. Over the course of the weekend, players will compete in 6 tournaments and 50,000 matches. In the end, there will only be one winner.

The World Finals will feature:

  • Special appearance by Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono
  • The world’s largest live Street Fighter IV competition
  • Tekken 6 playable on console
  • The best players from around the US and the world, including Japan’s legendary champion Daigo Umehara

Michael Jackson Memorial Service Sets New Ustream Record

Attention from all over the globe focused today, July 7, on the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where the memorial service for Michael Jackson was held.  Thousands today said goodbye to Jackson within the Staples Center, and what’s more, millions were able to be part of it from afar on Ustream.

It was the biggest traffic event in Ustream’s history. We hosted nearly 4.6 million total streams and 1.6 million total uniques from fans around the world, including the breaking news feed from our partner CBSNews.com. It was truly an interactive event, with more than 12,000 messages sent per minute in our chat rooms from viewers throughout the world. More than 3,000 Tweets were sent mentioning @cbsnews – the vast majority came from people watching on Ustream.

Ustream was also the only place to watch the service on the iPhone, via the Ustream Viewing Application.

The King of Pop will be commemorated tomorrow with a formal ceremony at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. For fans who weren’t able to get their hands on a ticket to the actual event, Ustream will have exclusive access to CBS’ live feed from inside the Staples Center beginning at 9am PST.

Some of the performers who are rumored to appear: Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Lionel Richie, Little Richard and Jennifer Hudson.

Ustream Parties With Ashton and Diddy At This Year’s Annual White Party!

What a way to celebrate the 4th of July! Over 230,000 of you tuned into the White Carpet, Malaria No More, and PTWITTYTV streams live from this year’s annual White Party! Besides being held in Los Angeles this year, the White Party was co-hosted by P.Diddy and Ashton Kutcher and helped raise money for Malaria No More, a charity dedicated to ending malaria.

Remembering Michael Jackson, and other events for the week of July 6th

Ustreamers around the world will be able to watch the memorial services for Michael Jackson, which will be streamed live via CBS News. The memorial will start at 10am PST on Tuesday, July 7th. Tune in here to watch along with other fans.

Other events this week include:

The Lost “Tweetcast” with Jay and Jack. Jay and Jack, hosts of the popular “Lost” fan podcast, “The Lost Podcast with Jay and Jack”, will be doing an interactive ‘tweetcast’, in which “Lost” fans around the globe can tweet their questions and theories about the show. Tune in here, starting at 6pm PST on Monday, July 6th.

Starting at 8pm PST on Tuesday, July 7th, OP will be streaming their Open Campus Launch Party. Special guests will include Bow Wow, Joel Madden, and Sophia Bush. The event can be seen here.

Tzipi Livni, leader of Kadima, the largest party in Israel’s national parliament, will be streaming an event live from Israel on Thursday, July 9th. Starting at 9am PST, you can join in here or on Facebook.

At 5pm PST, also on Thursday, singer-songwriter Brooke White will be streaming here and on her Facebook page!

Mario Marathon

Beginning on Friday, July 10th, starting at 6am PST, gamers from Lafayette, Indiana will host the second annual Mario Marathon. The marathon will be raising money for Child’s Play Charity, which provides toys, games and books to patients of children’s hospitals world wide. Watch and donate here!

Tech Crunch will be streaming The CrunchUp live from the historic Fox Theatre, in Redwood City, on Friday, July 10th. The event will run from 9am PST until 4:30pm, and can be viewed here!

On Saturday, July 11th, be sure to catch the launch of the Space Shuttle Endeavour on STS-127, which will be streamed by Spacevidcast and will happen at 5:39pm PST!
