One Response to President Obama Speaks Live Tonight

  1. Private Sector Alert
First if you are in the public sector you don’t want to read any further, all you will get is a major case of heartburn. No this tirade is for the rest of us, Democrat or Republican, black, white, red or yellow, male or female, young or old, gay, lesbian or straight, rich or poor, pro life pro death, union or non-union, own your own business or work for someone else. It makes no difference, you need to listen up.
It has become obvious that the private sector is about to be run over once again by the Obama administration and Congress like never before in history.
Whether you are a hamburger flipper or a CEO you pay taxes and fees. With these taxes you currently support about 50 million people directly and many more indirectly. Sounds fair then since almost everyone pays some taxes, right?
Well here is the dirty little secret, Public sector employees don’t pay taxes…(we’ll give that a second to sink in……). Well of course they do, you might say, they see it on their paycheck every week, right,
Wrong. You pay their taxes (property, sales, federal), you pay their mortgage, you put their kids though school, and their cars, recreation, oh and you pay for their health care that you can’t afford to purchase.
And this constant litany of the greed of private sector corporations and that they should pay more in taxes, well guess what they don’t pay taxes either. Taxes are a cost of doing business, their prices just go up to make up the difference and then you pay more taxes through the back door.
Millions of local, state, and federal employees are the happy beneficiaries of your tax dollars while both political parties try their best to keep us fighting over lifestyles, the military, anything to keep the private sector tore apart. It’s time to change that thinking that keeps us apart. If those individuals among us that have the intestinal fortitude to start and keep a business going ever stop innovating, and starting new businesses and spending their money, our economy will never recover.
Even so-called private sector companies that receive government money are no more private than the amount they receive, for example, let’s say Lockheed gets a new contract to build fighter planes for the military that will create 10000 jobs, well ultimately you pay every penny of that contract.
Another problem, with the shrinking of the true taxpaying workforce that is rapidly aging and headed for retirement, that means more of you will have to shoulder more of the burden. This is the same reason Social Security and Medicare will be bankrupt soon. And now you are going to be asked to pony up even more for the stimulus bill currently approved by Congress and soon to be signed by Obama.
This bill does absolutely nothing to help the private sector, not a single private sector job will be created, None, zero, nada.
You will hear countless comparisons to the Great Depression and how the government had to step in but there is no comparison. There was no unemployment compensation; no free health care, no 401k’s and the vast majority affected had no savings or even bank accounts. Those people were literally starving, not what we have today by any stretch of the imagination.
Take a serious look at the spending in this bill, you will be absolutely horrified. Millions to Acorn, how does this stimulate the economy?
Millions to Milwaukee School Districts, even though enrollment is declining and they have shuttered at least 10 schools! And it goes on and on and on…
And now they are talking about coming after your 401k’s, IRA’s, etc..Yes I heard the denials too, but trust me more than a few senators and congressmen are championing this on the talk show circuit.
So who are these public sector employees sucking up your taxes; bureaucrats, secretaries, clerks, cops, firefighters, teachers, tax appraisers, transportation, and a million more. I am not saying who among these are not worthy of our tax dollars but shouldn’t we get to decide who is and who isn’t. And no, your elected officials don’t count, especially the career officials since they are public sector employees (whether they want to admit it or not).
So basically what we have are public sector employees deciding how much and how often we in the private sector get to pay to keep them in power. Realistically why would a public sector employee ever vote to put themselves out of a job? Answer, It ain’t gonna happen.
When was the last time any public sector employee thanked you for paying their salary, their health care, their home. Its never happened that I know of, we are supposed to thank them for their selfless service and just keep paying them taxes.
Maybe it is time to start a grass roots organization dedicated to protecting the private sectors rights with zero prejudices about you or your lifestyle, just watching out for your interests as a private sector employee. Tell me what you think by writing the private sector champion at privatesectorchampion@yahoo.com.
