Today proved to be historic not only for the inauguration of our 44th president, but also because it was an amazing day for Ustream!
It was the biggest day Ustream has seen since the Election on Nov. 4, surpassing our record of one million streams for one event. What’s more, Ustream had hundreds of separate inauguration-related streams. Our streams were conversational and niche, with hosted professional streams as well as user-generated broadcasts. We had our personal best today, so why not brag alittle?
Some highlights:
- Ustream powered more than an estimated 3.8 million streams today
- 400,000 concurrent people were watching Inauguration events at any given moment during the speech and swearing in.
- Tens of thousands watched live on the iPhone
If you watched a Ustream live stream today, please vote for us in this poll!

Thanks to the Ustream team for the iPhone app–we had a whole bunch of new users come to our show JUST because they were using the app. Great job, Ustream and keep on refining that app!

Great app, from what I can tell. Is it just a viewing application? Any plans for a publishing app? Perhaps on another platform, say, Windows Mobile? I’d love to ditch Qik for an authentic uStream.tv utility!
