As seen in Techcrunch , Ustream has developed an application for the 3G iphone that allows you to watch Ustream anywhere w/everyone. Regardless of where you are at and what you are doing, you can choose to be in the moment with others in a shared live experience around a live event. If you are out-on-the-town and know that a guest speaker at a major conference is “going live” and want to watch live and be-in-the-crowd, then you can with this application.
You will be able to watch the Inauguration LIVE on Ustream with chat.
I’d like to introduce Ustream’s iPhone Viewing Application. We hope you like it!
We have a limited number of beta invites/testers. Email iphone@ustream.tv to get Ustream’s viewing application on your iphone.

I just did a search on iPhone in App store for “Ustream” and it asks “did you mean fstream”
Where is it and how do you get it?

Thank you!!

Dude.
I can see this being killed by Apple. Don’t know why..?
January 16th, 2009 at 7:09 am
@Ade
I think Apple was helping them develop it ..
January 16th, 2009 at 7:15 am

January 16th, 2009 at 9:21 am
Ah cool. Now where is the Symbian version? Or just a plain web interface with embedded mp4, instead of cloaking your stuff in Flash (or whatever)?
January 16th, 2009 at 9:25 am
Hey, thanks for the app, i need them
January 16th, 2009 at 9:27 am
Interesting indeed. I too wonder how this works without flash, but the obvious answer would be that they are pairing their FME servers with QT streaming servers. Totally excited to check this out.
January 16th, 2009 at 9:37 am
RE: Torrid Luna a standard mp4 web interface will never be available as it would be far too easy to stream-rip then. Using a dedicated app keeps the stream safer while still allowing it to be used on a mobile device.

“How long before you reach the 5gb limit on data?” If it’s a 400k stream you have about 1750 minutes or 29 hours to hit 5GB. I am not sure what uStream bitrate is, but that gives you an idea.
