Yes, they’re VERY cute, but they are little teddy bears with an attitude when they grow up.
Should you suddenly have the urge to add a shiba inu to your life, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check out the breed.

Do not make an uninformed decision, Midwest Shiba Inu Rescue (www.shibarescue.org) is full of shibas that no longer have their happy homes because the owners did not do their homework (or they were being outplaced from puppy mills).
If you’re still absolutely convinced that the shiba inu is for you …
#1 rule — DO NOT buy one at a pet store, these are the products of puppy mills and back yard breeders, no matter what they tell you. NO reputable breeder will sell their puppies through a broker or pet store. For more information see my site.
Please check out the breeder’s listing at the NSCA site, or check out your local rescue.

I saw them Sat night and the mother looked very bad – weak and not moving with her back to the puppies. Later she was nursing but still not moving at all. She did open one eye but that was it. I’m afraid they are having problems.
Which Shiba Inu is the mom? I watch the original puppy cam, but when they go away I’m going to watch this puppy cam!:)And please people don’t be so mean if they haven’t been on air, they are newborns.

Help! I can only get the static slideshow–no sign of a live puppy. No matter what I’ve tried, it always comes up as the slideshow. My friends are having the same problem. Any Ideas?

I finally saw the puppies today and they are darling…just adorable…they look very healthy and are nursing and are getting quite chubby…eyes still closed but they are growing fast!!
