New Look!
New Navigation
We’ve implemented a new header with drop down menus for easier navigation. In addition, we’ve added “Live” and “Upcoming” buttons so users can, at any moment, get caught up on what’s going on now and what events are coming up.
New Favicon
You’ve also probably noticed that we have a new favicon to reflect our new look! Look out for it in your browsers!
New Homepage
In addition to revamping the overall look, we’ve added new items to the homepage:
Announcements section
Announcements will keep everyone up-to-date on all Ustream developments — big events, new releases, and anything else an inquiring Ustreamer mind would want to know. Be sure to check in regularly to find out what’s going on at Ustream (note: you can also subscribe to this section via RSS.)
Upcoming Events
The dynamic nature of live often makes it challenging to tune in at the right time, so we’ve implemented a new feature to keep viewers updated: an Upcoming section. This section will list the most interesting broadcaster events upcoming on Ustream — from Barack Obama’s next campaign appearance to Rhett and Link’s next episode. Dates and times will be provided to ensure that viewers never miss out on an event.
Want your Event to show up in this Upcoming section? Then make sure to go into your “My Shows” and schedule an event!
Follow Us On Twitter
Get all your info through Twitter? Well, now you can get Ustream updates via Twitter by clicking our “Follow Us On Twitter” button in the upper right. Be sure to look out for our Tweets!
Flash Overlays!
You asked for them and we delivered. Now anyone can have a professional looking Ustream broadcast without having to use a third-party application. With our new Text Overlay feature, you can add scrolling text, lower third nametags, or any other text you can imagine. You can also hyperlink text, so users can click on them in the video player.
With our new YouTube overlay feature, you can add any YouTube video directly to your broadcast. Once you’ve selected the YouTube video you want to overlay, you can cue them up and play them at any point during your show.
(Be sure to look out for Image, RSS, and Chat overlays in the next few weeks!)
Broadcaster Metrics!
Want to get viewer statistics for your shows? Well, now you can see metrics for all your Ustream broadcasts! Simply login then go into your “My Shows” page and click the “Metrics” tab. In addition to viewing your Metrics, you’ll be able to email and export them.
We’ll be adding more metrics in the future, so look out for those.
The Next Few Weeks
In the next few weeks, we’ll be rolling out even more new features. This release was just the tip of the iceberg. So stay tuned and check in regularly for all the newest Ustream developments.

LOVE the new features! Can Ustream get any damn cooler? One of the few companies that actually listens to the users and introduces features that we can actually use. The flash overlays are a homerun out of the ballpark! Always have said it and Ill say it again–Ustream is simply the best a this game and untouchable!

Nice look, great new features, but the new site is too constrictive and not free flowing enough. What happened to the list of live shows that changed each time you refreshed the page? Seems like the top shows are now completely controlled by Ustream.tv and not by popular opinion.
I alway look forward to seeing what is coming up next for Ustream.tv Keep up the good work.

Hey guys, I noticed a stream on the frontpage with what seemed to be a flash powered overlayed chat. I was able to pin/unpin the chat overlay. Is this a feature for everyone? Coming soon? Already here and I can’t find it?

I will miss the LIVE SHOWS scrolling bar though – it was nice when the front page had the featured show and the other live shows broadcasting next to it. Made it easy to see what was currently and LIVE and the viewer draw was nice, too.

For those that asked, in the top right hand corner of the page you will see LIVE and UPCOMING buttons, they will take you directly to all live shows, etc..

Is have a few cams on one page in a chat lounge…anyone else having trouble with only being able to view one cam at a time?
There’s a few kinks to work out though. Like the partner shows. There’s a play button even when they’re not live. Also, when you press play on the partner show, it pauses the other show. It’s a great layout btw :]. Oh plus, it lags when someone goes live. Yeah sorry for the lame feedback :/
Honestly, I dont find the new ustream layout very appealing. For one, all the partner shows are squished together not to mention all of them have play buttons even when the person isnt online can be confusing with those acquainted with the previous version. The layout runs much slower with page loading times than the old.

Ant to believe I was going to buy Webcam Max when Ustream can do all of what it does for FREE! This site is getting better and better!
Two glitches though I find: One, no shout button. It was a true way to get featured, through the heart of your fans. I miss it.
Second, with the overlays, when I record, the overlays aren’t in the recording. Will this be fixed in the future? I hope so!
Ustream.TV is the best place to broadcast. Period.
New site looks good (though I just finished a bunch of tutorial screenshots for students and faculty). I notice that under ‘My Videos’ there doesn’t seem to be any embed code offered anymore. Will this be coming back soon?

very very cool! I love the youtube video overlay, can you add ustram.tv videos to a live show, or recorded show, or even custom links to play flv or swf files?
if your chat is hosted somewhere else like wylderyde.org (mine is) can that be embedded as an overlay.
Can you control the how transparent overlays are ??
I at first didnt like the text overlay, but love the fact you can make it a link that is clickable!.

I really like how Ustream looks like today also the new funtions Text Overlays, and youtube videos overlay, but you delete all the embed option that you use to have before.
I wish you put back the WordPress embed option.
also an extra option to allow or disallow the embed funtion in desired websites.

Do you have image overlays available now? If so how do I enable one for my stream?
New look! Nice look.
i noticed the changes, and now I notice that there seems to be a new variable called group=homepage in the flash variables in the object of the display page.
I no longer am able to use the chat=true on my display page to show 4 lines of chat on the video as the ustream home pages does. I even rebuilt my page with the exact code from the home page, and replace my show ID with the one on the home page, with the group=homepage parameter in there, it show their show even with my id, with I take out the group=homepage it now shows my page, but it does not show the chat at the bottom.
What parameters do I change to make it so that my video page shows the first 4 lines from the chat window?
