Today, Ustream announced the close of our series A round. We’re absolutely excited to be working with the DCM team. There couldn’t be both a better strategic and team fit.
This capital will allow us to continue to serve our community. We’re looking forward to allocating it in areas that will bring new and exciting features and powerful functionality to our Ustreamers.
But don’t just take my word for it; take it from our Head of Development and fellow Ustream Founder, Dr. Gyula Feher:
“Over the past year our team has built an amazing infrastructure that has proven its ability to scale in both time and load. The funding will allow us to take our technology to a new level and provide a level of service unprecedented in the live space. We will also employ capital to turn those great ideas coming from our community into great features.”
Finally, I want to thank each individual in our Ustream community, including broadcasters, viewers and fans. Your feedback, evangelism, and great content has spurred us along the right path. Definitely keep it coming, and stayed tuned for exciting new improvements throughout the platform!

Congratulations on getting the funding to take UStream to the next level. I’ve just “discovered” it through the Twitter community and plan on dragging my own 36,000 newsletter readers – kicking and screaming – into the age of live streaming video. (Not to mention it’s a lot easier for me to site in front of a camera and answer their FAQs, than it is to write 4,000 words every two weeks.

Speaking on behalf of the Tuesday Night Tech Show which has been hosted exclusively on UStream since our first show (43 shows ago!), we extend our congrats to Brad and the entire UStream team! Ustream has blossomed into a fantastic video streaming site, with many enhancements (including the great “co-host” feature). I hope they can enhance the infrastructure a bit to avoid any dropoffs in streaming (it happens, not to often, but it’s a pain when you are in the middle of a weekly show!). If anyone out there is considering streaming your own show (or lifecast), please start with Ustream–they are the best in the business and only getting better!

We would like you to tell your story at the Arizona Entrepreneurship Conference on Novc 19 in Phoenix. We’ve already asked Justine to come, but this conference focuses on the business. I am an early UStream user (thanks to Pirillo and Scoble) and an admirer of how you kept on improving the service even BEFORE you got the money!
